Gynai Kristol is Producer and Writer from and based in Los Angeles, CA. She’s a storyteller. Always has been and always will be. Film has always been in her life in some shape or form growing up, whether that was being in front of the tv watching Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker for the umpteenth time; watching every single episode of a behind the scenes show of a music video being made; or listening to music while contemplating ways to form concepts for them. Her granddad was also photographer, who inadvertently had quite the creative and storytelling influence on her at young age.
After graduating from UCLA, she moved to New York to further pursue her passion for film and attended New York Film Academy for their one year documentary program. While in that program, not only did she learn more in depth how to produce in film & TV, but also had the opportunity to write, produce and direct her own short films and documentaries. Her work has been accepted to film festivals, American Black Film Festival and African American Women in Film Festival, as well as premiered at MoCADA in Brooklyn, NY.
Moving back to Los Angeles after 8 years in New York brought on the role of Producer. Gynai served as Associate Producer for The Shop, Season 7 which led to a Sports Emmy Nomination; Lead Producer for The Shop spin-off series, The Shop: House Calls; Producer for The Shop: Season 8; and Producer for Mind the Game with LeBron James and Steve Nash.
